Second Act is a celebration of one man’s musical journey, a testament to a lifelong love of music. Bandleader, vocalist and pianist Michael Suser performs a collection of some of his favorite tunes, from the works of Cole Porter to Billy Joel, from swing to pop, from big band to blues. This recording brings together an eclectic choice of song styles, a lush mix of tunes from different eras.

From the first track to the last, Michael swings with energy, and puts his heart into every tune, whatever the style, painting each phrase with the dynamic colors of his rich, nuanced voice.

Michael’s vocals and piano are accompanied by a superbly talented group of jazz musicians, for the most part members of the Night & Day band, which continues to perform to much acclaim in the Washington DC area, as it has since Michael founded it some 15 years ago.
