 Over
the last 15 years, Night & Day Band
has performed successfully at hundreds of weddings and receptions in
Washington
DC,
Maryland
and
Virginia.
We have established a solid reputation as one of the most
exciting and reliable wedding bands in the area. If
you are searching for the perfect swing and variety band or ensemble
to provide live music for your wedding day, Night

Night & Day has
the versatility and flexibility to meet all of your musical
needs, including ceremony, cocktail, background, listening,
and dance music. For smaller, more intimate weddings,
we offer jazz/swing combos up to five pieces. For larger
receptions, our six- and seven-piece variety wedding band
may be the best choice. We will work closely with you
on your musical dance choices (first wedding dance, parents dance,
last wedding dance). Over our many years of performing wonderful
live music for weddings in

VA,
we have received many compliments about our ability to "read
the crowd." This is an extremely important skill at
a wedding reception, where the guests may range in age
from toddlers to seniors. We are experts at sensing
when it’s time to change the beat.
PROGRESSION OF THE MUSIC FOR
A TYPICAL WEDDING
Our first set
of musical samples demonstates how the music might progress
during a
“typical” wedding reception. We begin with
mellow, jazzy instrumental pieces appropriate for the cocktail
and dinner phase. This is the time your guests want to
converse, and the music should set the mood without getting
in the way. The tempo picks up as the evening progresses,
with more swing and big band numbers to energize your crowd.
At the peak of the party the music moves to oldies, Motown and
classic rock for dancing, with romantic ballads sprinkled
in. As your wedding draws to a close, the music of our wedding band
has reflected
the many moods of the evening:
